Linvilla Orchards

We had a fun little day trip last week to Linvilla Orchards with one of our dear friends. Ollie might seem too young to appreciate animals or how awesome it is to handfeed a cow lettuce, but he totally gets it and likes to be involved. He especially liked the ducks, like mother like son. I could stand there all day throwing dry corn in thier pond, listening to thier delightful "quacks".
In other news, packing SUCKS, and it's too damn hot here for it being spring. This weather is stupid, and I couldnt be happier to leave this summer for Maine's 75 degree highs : )

I love those handsome men of mine. Hope you had a great Tuesday.

Weekend Recap: Easter

Hope your Easter was great! Ours sure was. We went to my parents house for the whole weekend. We had an Easter egg hunt, did a little shopping, dyed eggs, ate tons of food! Wait did I mention the FOOD?! Omg, deviled eggs, potato salad, ham, pineapple cake, strawberry poke cake, candy, more candy and oh yeah CANDY! Marshmallow eggs<3 Ollie got to wear his cute and vintage Easter outfit. And despite having a horrible cold, with runny nose, coughs and all, he was a very happy baby! Here's some pics I snapped this last weekend.

Happy Monday!

Stupid "Holiday"

Today for us wasn't any dumb holiday or a memory of a shooting, or even a totalitarianist's birthday. It was just a regular day. Yesterday was Ollie's 6m checkup. He's 3 lbs under what he should be, putting him in the 1% for weight. Our pedi attributes that to high metabolism and burning off empty veg/fruit calories. She suggested more food. I'm lookling into supplementing him though. He's overall healthy at least! 27.5 inches long!
Yesterday he also got to see the Easter bunny! He wasn't too thrilled at first until I jumped behind the camera and made him smile : ) Dave and I got Friendly's, complete with sundaes and Ollie got new shorts from Target.

Today Ollie and I just hung around till Dave got home from work. Then we all headed to the park for some swing time! Afterwards we grabbed a pizza and are currently ready for some much needed rest in the a/c! It got up to 82• today! Phew!
Have a Happy Wednesday night!

Weekend Recap

Ugh last week I was in some kind of a funk. Come Thursday I couldn't really function as anything more then a zombie. We went to my parents Friday to celebrate my Dad's belated birthday. I made him a Jewish apple cake, which was MORE then amazing, not to toot my own horn but beep! beep! For some reason, possibly allergies, (UGHHHHHHH) I has a splitting headache, actually migrane. So bad that all I wanted to do was sleep. Of course Friday night I got *maybe* 2 hours of sleep, making my headache that much worse. I eventually got rid of it last night, but it lingers today even. I also strayed far, very far, from my diet this weekend. But it was a reward well earned, cause this diet is killing me. It's easy, but gets very redundant. It was a lot easier being vegan while I lived in South Philly. There were more options restaurant and grocery store wise. I decided I'm gonna have a cheat day once a week, Sunday... A day to look forward to.
Ollie is now 23 weeks old and is getting so close to that half birthday mark. Yet he's still just my little guy. He sleeps on me and hold my hand to sleep. He cries "mama" when hungry in the early morning. Only when crying, of course! He wants to clap hands, he's learning to grab EVERYTHING, and he's getting so good at sitting up by himself. His hair is also starting to come in more. Which is creating icky cradle cap. I hate that stuff, but apparently it means more hair growth. Hopefully he gets Dave's light brown straight hair and not my almost black wavy locks.
Dave has off tomorrow, so Tuesday will be devoted to cleaning. Fun!
Have a great Monday night.

Busy Bees

We did a bunch today. And all in the pouring rain. Ugh. Our dear friend was able to run me all over gods green earth today since I had so many errands to run. Dave didn't have work today so we switched off watching Ollie in the car rather then bringing him into every store. Finally got everything done just before dinner, TACOS! Vegan of course.
I'd like to acknowledge a special persons birthday, my fathers. His birthday is today and even though I didn't get to see him, i'll see him this weekend. I love birthdays and always go overboard with presents and cake and cards etc. He's worth it! Even Dave, who's shy(ish) wished a happy birthday via phone. Ollie tried too, but only got a couple ooohs and ahhs in.

This is my new hair-do. It's a little darker then my natural color. The blonde is more ashy then I'm used to. Usually when I go blonde it's very light or platinum. Maybe eventually I'll go platinum. But for now I'm trying to keep my hair healthy so it'll grow back to it's old length of mid back. Tomorrow I'm being a domestic princess, but just for tomorrow.
Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Recap

I guess our weekend really started Thursday afternoon when Dave got done work. We took a walk to a local park so Ollie could test out the baby swings. It was almost 70 degreees out. Since Dave didn't work Friday, we decided to head down into the city for the afternoon.

We took the train down around noon. After some misshaps and a pee soaked blanket we headed down to a favorite playground of mine on South street, Starr Garden. Before the park we ate at an all vegan restaurant/pizzeria, Blackbird Pizzeria. Dave had a "pepperoni" pizza slice and we split a seitan cheesesteak while Ollie gulped down a bottle of mama milk. I think thier food is a little overpriced, but I understand why. Vegan cheese, in particular Daiya, is expensive. I still like my cheesesteak better but oh well.

At the park we met up with Aunt Gabby and her fiancé Jordan. She took a bunch of cute pictures of Ollie and babytalked him about how adorable he was. Ollie is about half Gabby's size, so seeing her holding him is kinds funny but really cute. Then our friend Haley stopped by with her new little 1 month old Boy, Shepard. He was just precious, and had a full head of hair! He's becoming such a big boy, it's amazing how fast they grow. It feels like just yesterday Ollie was that big! Soon Ollie will be crawling and biting with his new teeth! Speaking of which, he's teething and was a fusspot all weekend, ugh.
Later Friday, after we got home, Aunt Sally came over to finish my hair. Were slowly bleaching sections blonde, as to not fry my hair. It's a lot lighter now then last weekend! She stayed over till Saturday afternoon and after she left I collapsed into our bed with Oliver and watched movies all night from there. I was so tired from walking all day in the sun on Friday. It got up to 77 degrees! Felt like 80 to me. Sunday was spent folding 4 loads of laundry and seperating baby clothes into "size now" piles.

Ollie loves playing drums with da-da! He's more musically inclined at 22 weeks old then I am at 24 years Old!
Have a great Monday : )

Picky Eaters

Ollie is confusing the crap outta me. He loved sweet potatos, check. He seemed to like sweet green peas Sunday night, but the last 2 nights he's been refusing them. He didn't like apples that much, now he can't get enough. He likes pears, but not as much as apples....see what I mean?! Oh well at least I know Dave will literally eat anything I put in front of him. Which is usually awesome food, cooked with a lot of love. Tonight was eggplant parm.
And for dessert...

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Pudding.
Mmmm it was delicious. Can't wait for it cold!(I like it better cold then warm)

Enjoy your Tuesday night!

Weekend Recap

Been a bad blogger, woops. Ollie had a fever Thursday and I usually don't update on the weekend anyway, hence my absence. We headed out to my parents house in Lancaster this weekend for a mini vacation. My mom picked us up after work on Friday. Even though it takes a little longer due to traffic, I still wouldn't have her leave work early to get us, that's just silly. Friday night we just hung out and let my parents cuddle Ollie and spoil him with thier affection. Ollie gets really excited when his papa talks to him and trys really hard to communicate back.
Saturday we went to the local Goodwill that also has a discount Amish mart inside. I picked up a Carters sleeper, book, GAP airplane hoodie, Oshkosh onesie, and wooden toy car for the little man. Such great deals too. Then a little later, with Ollie strapped to me, Dave, Papa and I went on a little walk to see the horses out in the field behind thier house. I really love horses, but honestly their size slightly scares me! For dinner that night Ollie had more sweet potatos while we scarfed down chicken and waffles with mashed potatos corn. I liked the chicken maple gravy the best. When me and my mom team up, our cooking powers combined, are unstoppable ha! We left Sunday, a little while after going to an indoor flea market. I was trapped in one of the aisle's by an old couple oogling Ollie and making me feel like a I NEEDED a quilt for him. I was polite to them but couldn't help but squirm away as they stared at my giant plugs and piercings, no doubt wondering "who gave her that kid!?". We went to my Aunt Carole's house after that for a shirt visit. Ollie was a fuss pot the whole time and it really bummed me out my aunt didn't get to see him happy. We plan on visiting again really soon.
So far Ollie has had sweet potatos, apples, sweet peas, and pears. He seems to enjoy them all, but really loves the potatos. Laundry has been increased due to this new diet as well. Today I finally got around to cleaning and putting everything away after this weekend. It makes me sad that our beautiful bassinet, Ollies godmother gave to me at my shower, is a freakin laundry basket! Ugh. One day I'll get all that stuff figured out! I really need to find a good home for all this newborn stuff he's outgrown! He's only 13.4 lbs but he's 25.5 inches tall. Lean & Mean! He's already in 6 month clothing. And at only 19 weeks as of Sunday, it's looking like he's gonna be in 12 month clothing by 9 months!

Our new "trick" to getting him to poop (which btw is turning solid and stinky and gross) is water. Just a little at dinner seems to help *loosen* all those new solid foods going in, coming out. Okay now that I've grossed you all out, happy Monday!

Valentine's Day Massacre

Valentine's day this year was bittersweet. The day itself was pretty sweet, the night portion...not so much. It wasn't anything to do with not having romance or the right setting, it was just...other crap. Instead of getting to spend some quiet time together, snuggled on the couch, it was spent yelling, and complaining and venting to each other. Even though it wasn't perfect I wouldn't trade it for the the world...things like that just make me love and trust Dave even more. He is my best friend and truly my soulmate. I love him.
For V-day this year I decided to "think outside the box". I got both Ollie and Dave vintage valentine cards from the 50's. Ollie got new jammies, and a pacifier holder for his Soothie. I got Dave a variety package of candied and chocolate bacons and a pocket size comic book. He also stepped outside the box and got me an Ergo Backpack diaper bag (which we desperately needed) and some chocolates. But the best thing was this homemade card : )

The best thing about yesterday was that Ollie's main gift was a trip to the park for the first time! It was in the 60's here so I wrapped him up and tested about our baby carrier and away we went. It was amazing. He was looking all around smiling and wide eyed. He was really taken back by all the different senses. When we got to the park we put him in the baby swing with a blanket around him and watched as he decided whether he wanted to cry or laugh! He didn't do either. He was kinda freaked out, but eventually began to enjoy it!

Hope your Valentine's Day was as good as mine, or even better!

Rock On

Ollie is officially 15 weeks as of yesterday. He's already hit milestones that babies 3-4 weeks older are hitting now! My little guy is so smart. I wish I could figure him out sometimes, though. Last night he would NOT go to sleep. We tried rocking him, letting him "cry it out" (which had us awake till 3:50 by the time we figured that was BS), we changed him, and I fed him...TWICE. Nothing seemed to work and honestly I can't even remember how we finally got him to go to sleep, but by that time I was literally ready to sell him off to the gyptsies or something. I could have cried I was so tired. I hope tonight is better.

We really didn't do much of anything over the weekend. Played around and ate some good food. Saturday nights dinner, which I had planned and planned all day, turned out horrible! I suppose everyone has those "bad kitchen" days, but it could had been worse.....no I lie, it couldn't have been.

Ollie just loves when his daddy plays piano for him. Dave could probably entertain Ollie all day. Which is good for me because I'm trying to get a small buisness off the ground right now and can use all the time I can get. But even though I know I should be "working", I can't help but spend my "free" time hanging out this best little dude!

How could you say "no" to a face like that?!

Have a great Monday night!
